Yes, it’s Easter time… again! Two blinks ago it was Christmas, I know. ;-)
So it’s the perfect moment for all kinds of Easter eggs. I’d like to show you the eggs I made for giving my home a little taste of Easter. They are easy to do and you can choose between just fasten off or make a little lace to hang it up in doors or windows (I did that).
Well, here you have all the instructions to do these lovely Easter eggs.
Materials:
- 4 different nice shapes of worsted cotton (4-ply): A, B, C and D.
- Polystyrene Eggs (8cm height/6cm wide)
- 3,5mm hook
- Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
- Magic ring: mr.
- Chain: ch.
- Single crochet: sc (UK double crochet).
- Spike stitch: sp. Spike stitch is made by working 1 single crochet into stitch one row below next stitch.
- Slip stitch: sl st.
- Increase: inc.
- Decrease: dec.
* Note: Because of the stripes, this pattern is made by joining rounds instead of work in a spiral.
Pattern:
Row 1: With colour A. mr, 6sc, sl st.
Row 2: ch, 2sc in each st, sl st.
Row 3: ch, (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st) repeat around, sl st.

Row 9: With colour D. ch, (2sc, sp in next st) repeat around, sl st.

Before fasten off, with colour D, make a 35st chain and join both ends with a knot. Then fasten off the egg sewing the handle at the same time.
