Learn how to crochet and let me introduce you to this beautiful skill full of creative possibilities. You will learn the basic stitches and will be introduced to different techniques such as colour changing, how to create a textured fabric or how to work in the round.
In every session we will use a project based approach so you can make a small project while you learn every technique.
This course is for total beginners and people that might need a refresher.

Crochet Plus: Top down garment. 5w course
This course is about the top-down crochet technique that basically allows you to create a seamless garment. During the course students will learn an easy method to create a made to measure garment. They will be able to decide the style and length. We will talk about swatching for your project and how to calculate how much yarn do you need to complete it. Finally we will learn how to block your garment and get it ready to wear.
This is not a beginner’s course, you will need some previous knowledge of crochet.
Although some materials for the first session will be included in the fee, students will have to provide the necessary yarn and hook to create their projects. It is very important to contact in advance the tutor, Cristina, before buying any yarn. She will advise on the type of materials you will need to buy prior to the start of the course. Tunisian crochet. Intermediates. 5w course
Learners can expect to work in more advanced Tunisian crochet projects and techniques. Through a different project every week we will learn advanced stitches and shaping techniques, among other things, that will take you to the next level.
To follow this course you need to be familiar with the basics of Tunisian crochet: forward and return pass, how to cast on and bind off and how to make Tunisian simple stitch. Alternatively you would have taken our “Introduction to Tunisian crochet” course.

Crochet clinic. 2h session.
These one-of sessions are ideal for those learners that want to start a certain project but find it challenging or to solve any ongoing issues with some work in progress. You are also welcome if you want to work in the company of other crocheters.
The maximum capacity of these sessions is slightly smaller than usual to allow enough time for every person.
To get the most of it, ideally, you would send me an email to info@tenguerengue.com with some information about what do you need, attaching any pictures or patterns that could be relevant so I can be as prepared as possible.
The learner will need to bring their project and tools as well as any materials relevant for their project.

Intro to freeform crochet. Day Workshop.
Learn the basics of freeform crochet in this day workshop. Freeform crochet is a technique that prioritises creative expression and intuition over following a pattern. It would be a way to draw with yarn. Freeform crochet is also a fabulous way to use your leftover yarn. Although there are no rules, there are some useful techniques that will allow the learner to achieve the desired results. You will learn different ways to create organic shapes as well as joining techniques.
During the workshop the learner will be introduced to the so called 'scrumbles' which are a small, irregular pieces of crochet that are joined to create a larger, textured fabric.
This workshop is not for total beginners. To follow the session comfortably you will need to know the basics of crochet (double crochet stitch, half treble stitch, treble stitch as well as working in the round and magic ring).

All the materials are included in the price which includes a crochet hook, yarn in different colours, a yarn needle and step by step printed instructions to take home.

Kids introduction to crochet. Workshop.
This fun crochet workshop for kids is the perfect introduction to the craft, where they will learn the basic techniques of crochet in a friendly and relaxed environment.
During the 3 hour workshop they will work on 2 different keyring designs in a colour of their choice. The class is taught in right-handed technique but if your child is left-handed please let us know on booking.
All the tools and materials are included in the price which includes crochet hook, stitch marker, yarn needle, chunky yarn and step by step instructions. The workshops is suitable for children from 9 years old plus.
