The beautiful colours of Autumn are here and with that, it is time for Halloween, pumpkin hot drinks and scary decorations.
My little contribution to that is a quick pattern to make a crocheted skull. You can sew that motif on a t-shirt or maybe make a skull bunting. That is entirely up to you.
I make my skull with chunky white yarn and a 5mm hook. If you choose a smaller yarn weight/hook size, the skull will be smaller. If you choose a bigger yarn weight/hook size, the skull will be bigger.
I recorded a short video to show how to make one. It has no sound, just my hands moving. 😊
See the written instructions and the video below.
Enjoy the pattern! xx

Round 1. Ch10 and make a sl st in the 10th ch from the hook. Then ch11 and make a sl st in the 10th ch from the hook. That would be the shape of the eye sockets.
Round 2. Make 1dc in the ch left between the eye sockets. Then work 10dc around the first eye socket. Make 1dc on the bottom part of the ch between the eyes. Then work 10dc around the second eye socket.
Round 3. Make 4dc, 1inc, 1dc, 1inc, 2dc. Ch4 and sk 5. Then make 2dc, 1inc, 1dc, 1inc and 3dc. Cut and fasten off.
Put your piece upside down and join the yarn in the second st to the right of the nose. Ch4 and work 1tr around the ch4 space that forms the nose. Then ch1 and work 1tr around the ch4 space. Ch1 and work 1tr in the 2nd st to the left of the ch space.
Then ch1 and turn. Work 1dc in each st. Ch1 again and turn. Work 1dc in each st.
Next you are going to start a round of stitches around the whole skull. Ch1 and make 1dc on the side of the teeth and 3dc over the tr st. Then work 2dc, 1inc, 1dc, 1inc, 7dc, 1inc, 1dc, 1inc, 2dc, 3dc over the ch3 and 1dc on the other side of the teeth.
Finish the skull by making one sl st in each st all around. Cut and fasten off.
